Before deciding which sound card to buy, you should look at what you’re going to be using for. The great thing about SoundBlaster external sound cards is that you can place them on your desktop and have a volume control you can reach easily without having to search through menu bars on your PC to change volume.The soundcard as an array of ports, including Microphone and line in/out ports you can connect a wide range of different audio equipment.

There are a couple of problems with the Creative External Sound card though, first off I know firsthand that external sound cards aren’t great for 3D positioning while gaming due to the amount of calculations taking place. Second, because it’s quite old, this Creative sound card doesn’t come with Vista drivers but this is easily sorted by visiting the official Creative Site and downloading the latest drivers.
