9800 Series card released around March | Geforce9800 GX2, Geforce9800 GT, Geforce9800 GTX

Geforce9800If you’re a gamer looking to upgrade your graphics card now is not the best time to do it. With Nvidia’s Geforce 9000 range are being released in the first quarter of 2008 and a price shift will happen around March when the 9800GTX will be released, with the 9600 already being released.

The three new cards in the 9800 series that are being released are the Geforce9800 GX2, Geforce9800 GTX and Geforce9800 GT. The specs on these cards are currently been spread throughout the internet, so it’s an exciting time for gamers everywhere. Although corners do seem to have been cut with the 9800GTX using the same Cooler as the 8800GTS

The 9800 GX2 Card is a Dual-Chip graphics card that will actually work with Quad SLI, while the 9800 GTX will support up to 3 cards at once. Prices are yet to be fully known, and it is doubtful that many gamers will go out and buy 3 expensive cards when there is only really one game that really justifies spending that amount of money, that being Crysis.

In the short term, the best thing that will come from this new generation of cards will be the price restructure within the market. Every time a big release like is announced, there is a fall in price of the old cards so the new cards are the same price as the old. This is great news for the average gamer, because that Card you were going to buy suddenly becomes cheaper
